I made the mistake of going to a certain big-name tax preparation company that goes by certain initials two years ago and having them prepare my taxes simply because I didn't want to trust anyone but a nationwide company any more after getting burned by a local so-called tax-preparer the year before. Now I regret ever doing so. I ended up costing me over $200 to have them spend less than 40 minutes filling out a couple of forms and then filing my taxes electronically so I could use their "Rapid Refund" service. Not only did I end up paying three times the amount that year that you charged me last year, but I still had to wait over two weeks to get the second check from my refund. Last year, you informed me that by filing so early in the year, I would be wasting my money if I paid for the refund anticipation loan because I would end up getting my refund back in roughly the same amount of time anyway.
You were right... Last year, I had you prepare my taxes (which ended up being several forms longer than the previous years due to rental income, self employment, etc...) and ended up paying less than one-third of what I had paid that other company, and DID in fact get it back in approximately the same amount of time as before.
